Lemon Myrtle

The Lemon myrtle is a small Australian native tree that bears white flowers in summer and releases a delicate but strong lemon scent after a rain or when the leaves are crushed. Australian indigenous people have used lemon myrtle for its healing properties as well as its unique and distinctive flavour for thousands of years.

If the sourness of lemon makes you wince, then go no further! Lemon myrtle has a sweet, fresh and tangy savour without the acidity of citruses.

At Violet & Gold, we use fresh leaves from local trees to handcraft our Lemon myrtle and Lemon myrtle & ginger syrups.
